Celebrate Native American Culture at the Fair!

Take some time at the Erie County Fair this year to visit the Nya:Weh Indian Village and celebrate the rich heritage of the Haudensaunee people.

Fairgoers can purchase handmade items, try native foods and learn about the culture.  There have been updates to the village including the construction of a new “Turtle Mound” dance platform and the placement of a 6 foot tall ear of corn. 

The following is a list of events that will take place at the Indian Village this year:

  • Dedication of the Turtle Mound- August 7 at 6:30pm
  • Veterans Day Honoring Ceremony- August 11 at 4pm
  • Iroquois Smoke Dance COmpetition- August 2pm and 7pm
  • Tiny Tots Smoke Dance Competition– August 18 at 2pm
  • Daily Dances- Everyday at 11am, 4pm, and 7pm
