Let’s Eat at the 2015 Erie County Fair

Wednesday, July 15th, 2015

_A7U0481Again and again fairgoers rank food the number one reason why they attend the Erie County Fair. Whether folks come for a traditional chicken BBQ or to try the latest deep fried concoction the 2015 Erie County Fair has over 500 menu items to satisfy any appetite.

Each year many of the 100+ food vendors attempt to push the envelope of what will be deep fried, on a stick, or combined to make unique summer treats and for the first time ever the Fair will be celebrating these efforts in an all new contest- the New Foods Showdown! Narrowed down to just ten competitors with the most unique new food offerings, fairgoers will have the oppornew_food_showdown.pngtunity   to vote on their favorite new food via the Fairgrounds mobile app. Voting for this contest will open on August 12, when fairgoers can begin to make the rounds trying the new foods, and close on August 18. The winner of this competition will be announced on August 20.  All the competitors can be found here.

This successful event returns in its second year allowing fairgoers the opportunity to eat “taste-sized” portions of over 100 foods throughout the grounds. Tastes of select menu items will be just $2.00. Fairgoers may find their new favorite Fair food as they work their way through the menu.  Speaking of menu- if you would like a sneak peek of the what will be offered this year print out your Taste of the Fair Guide.

Fairogers who wish to save money on some of their Fair food favorites can pick up a copy of Food Coupons at an information booth (while s

While eating food is certainly great- giving food is even better. Once again the Erie County Fair will team up with the Food Bank of WNY to collect canned food donations. Donations brought to the gate on Wednesday, August 12 can be redeemed for FREE admission to the Fair that day.  The Food Bank of WNY served over 100,000 people each and every month right here in our community!
