Erie County Agricultural Society Announces Scholarship Recipients

The Erie County Agricultural Society (ECAS) is pleased to announce this year’s recipients of a total of $25,000 in scholarships.  These opportunities are made available to students who participate in the Erie County Fair. Scholarships are awarded based on general Fair participation and those involved in agricultural related activities. Since its inception in the 1950s, the goal of the scholarship program has been to connect the region’s students with agriculture, business, and volunteerism. Two scholarship categories were available: 


The Erie County Fair Scholarship seeks students who are enrolled or enrolling in a college or university. These students must have participated in the Erie County Fair in some capacity in order to be eligible. Participation includes, but is not limited to, employment, exhibition, volunteering, marching band, or other performances.


Recipients include:
•  Dylan Kehr of Lawtons, NY attending Alfred State College

•  Rachel McNamara of East Aurora, NY attending Nazareth College

•  Meganne Chapman of Cattaraugus, NY attending the University of Akron

•  Rachel Norvilitis of Orchard Park, NY attending Alma College

•  Annika Smith of Hamburg, NY attending University at Albany


The Erie County Agricultural Society Scholarship is limited to students who are pursuing an agriculture related career. Students must be enrolled or enrolling in a college or university and must be able to describe how their field of study will help them in their agricultural endeavors. Recipients must have shown participation in the Erie County Fair or Erie County Agricultural Society sponsored activities.

•  Morgan Depue of Hamburg, NY attending Cornell University

•  Jessica Engel of Springville, NY attending Blue Hawk College

•  Miriam Hoelscher of Eden, NY attending SUNY Morrisville

•  Bryanna Warner of Frewsburg, NY attending Wilmington College
